I shut it off and when I went to restart it the bike wouldn't turn over. Neutral light is on, battery is full charge. If I jump the solenoid it will turn over but there is still no spark and no spark when I use the pull starter. I replaced the starter solenoid thinking that maybe one of the poles was bad still no luck. Checked the fuse coming off the battery and it is good. Any ideas?
My delema here is wether to go for the clutch or mess with the carb?

I repalced it but it still takes an act of god to get it started. Needless to say, once were up and running, it seems to have no power at all.

No help on the shifter, but if you shift it with your hand instead of a foot you might feel a broken spring hanging up in there.
