It started the season as the Rasmus Dahlin draft, it still is the Rasmus Dahlin draft and, based on the immense potential of the prospect and associated forecasts of greatness, it may well forever be known as the Rasmus Dahlin draft. We can expect the Dahlin hype train to hit top speed this week as he sets out on a career that will determine where he fits in the pantheon of modern-day elite Swedish defencemen. He has a long, long way to go to earn favourable comparisons to arguably the greatest Swedish defenceman ever - Nicklas Lidstrom - but Dahlin already demonstrates much of the same ease and three-zone impact as the Hall of Famer. At first glance, his ranking has not changed one bit. Svechnikov has size, speed and skill.

The exercise of re-drafting a class is about as unfair as it gets to NHL scouts. I say it every time I do one of these because I want to be up front. Projecting which players are going to be the best pros is inexact and often humbling. With the class of having several intriguing individuals, I decided to take a look and re-draft based on the evidence we have so far. I purposely did not look back at my draft rankings from , then at ESPN , so as to not remind myself too much of how I felt then. I like his attitude. Bouchard put up a lot of points for a reason. He can push defenders back with speed and gain the offensive zone with control. While he can make skilled plays, Tychonick more often is moving the puck calmly and effectively, generating clean zone exits with consistency and showing impressive vision. But his value comes from his skills and shot. He has very impressive vision and seems to always be in the right place at the right time. His point shot could be a tad stronger, as well. I rank him this high despite low production because of his immense talent, no character flags, and I could see his development spiking as he continues to play high-level hockey. Dellandrea can make a skilled play to get a zone entry, showing the odd flash of higher level skill and has above-average vision. Dellandrea also is a quality defensive center who can kill penalties well and take critical draws. Only 85 Artyom Minulin and 97 Kirill Slepets were not selected.

He tries to make a play in every situation. Anytime you say that, the ears perk up on talent evaluators. New York Rangers. He was good, but not great upon his return to hockey with Moncton. The big issue with him is decision making. He can run it from any position. He does work hard to win pucks at both ends and his motor stands out most shifts, often playing with reckless abandon for his own body. I think he has significant upside, though. He makes real good tape-to-tape passes. The correlation of the rankings players ranked to actual draft position was 0. Other significant drops occur between 29 and 30, 43 and 44, and around the 53 range. He has the best shot of any prospect in this draft class to be a No. He needs time to round out his game, and to learn when to play quick and when to slow plays down, but his potential is among the very best in this draft class. His skating is good as he often shows the ability to beat defenders wide with speed and can change speeds very well. Fixing his reads and a thin frame lead to him not providing a ton of defensive value.
