Joginder Tuteja of Bollywood Hungama gave it 2 out of 5 and stated that except "Maula Maula" the rest songs are average to hear and may just enhance the film's narrative to some extent. There was brutal violence in them, but way short of the first part of this movie. For Nana, this film substantiates the fact that he can pull off thoughtful, powerful and serious roles like a pro. The script is perfectly written, the background score takes this movie to another level, the direction is absolutely perfect no silly camera cuts and the climax makes this movie a masterpiece. When he tells Kasab in a choked voice, "I have a son of your age", Nana isn't faking it. Archived from the original on 4 March The best part of movie is where Joint Commissioner of Police and Kasab are in face to face happens twice. Plus, the climax makes it worse and I personally feel, that should NOT have been included in a movie which boasts off of a title so oblivious with its own story. Scenes are good except few ones who sounded exaggerated for example, receptionist at Taj ,tried to save the kid, when all the attackers are roaming around her. His performance goes way beyond acting. A well rounded script is missing. We get to know the extent to which Kasab is brain-washed and given a falsified understanding of Islam in the name of Jihad. In first one, RGV is able to bring out the mindset of terrorists and meaning of jihad for them, In the second one, he is able to narrate the falsehood in the theory of jihad and extremist characteristics of religion.
