It almost looked like Joe would do it before The Undisputed Kingdom came out. Adam Cole touted the group's accomplishments and said Joe is only the champ because they allowed it to happen.

Late, though, Statlander and Nightingale's power advantage proved to be the difference. After Nightingale broke up a pin by Hart on Statlander that proceeded a picture-perfect moonsault, the babyfaces mounted a comeback that concluded with a big powerbomb from Nightingale to Hart for the victory. A good match that was a bit messy at times, but it still did a better job of telling a cohesive story than the opener and highlighted the four competitors very well. The in-ring psychology of Cage was on full display as he manipulated his way to an advantage and proceeded to work over the challenger.

Let's hope the company sticks the landing with all of the feuds it has built up, aew bleacher report. Chris Jericho brought back his Lionheart persona for a match against Atlantis Jr. Ospreay didn't seem too excited to see them and had a standoff with Takeshita, but it never turned into a fight.

The Icon is wrapping up a legendary career at Sunday's pay-per-view, so the company made sure to tout his last episode. He said he would not be able to compete at Revolution, which led to Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana coming out. Swerve said he respects everything Page has done in AEW, but now is his time to be the champion, which brought out Samoa Joe.

Some of the stains were unnaturally bright. Following Storm's promise that Purrazzo would get the old her and more, Mariah May entered the arena dressed like her idol from a year or so ago. Takeshita sold a forearm to the face that knocked him down and, apparently, out. Sting's entrance was preceded by an excellent video that saw The Icon view from an empty movie theater some of the highlights of his iconic career. This guy should have at least had a TNT title reign by now. Penta's may have even connected a bit better. That is another issue for another time but for now, the finale of Sting's career was an unforgettable moment that delivered in spades. The story here was Kingston's grit and resiliency and the mounting frustration it caused in Danielson. Samoa Joe c vs. Cage ended up smashing Copeland's head between two chairs before posing with his group. That was hampered by the massive creative misstep in the closing seconds.

A hellishly physical encounter full of awe-inspiring sequences and athleticism, with the story thread of two teammates testing each other, it captivated the audience from the opening bell and elicited chants of "fight forever. The more matches Hook has, the more he sells for his opponents. All six guys are renowned for different reasons, so it was no surprise that they all worked well together, especially since many of them have previous history as rivals. The way Cassidy cleared the barricade with a single jump was impressive. The triple sleeper hold spot was done really well. This was predictable but helped continue the heel turn for Nick and Matt. The Blade was at ringside but Penelope Ford was nowhere to be seen. This was a fantastic match with a great story and a performance from Kingston that all young and aspiring wrestlers should study. Skye Blue and Kris Statlander wasted no time getting to work when the bell rang. Adam Cole touted the group's accomplishments and said Joe is only the champ because they allowed it to happen. Top Flight had a slight speed advantage, so both Martin brothers made sure to use it. He fled in a stolen SUV. Go-home shows before a PPV are tricky because you want to give the live crowd a good experience without risking any injuries to talent.
