I'm considering listing our victorian as a "0 bed" rental for local people to rent out for small events like baby showers, birthday parties, ect. Does anyone else do this? The reason I'm considering going through AirBnB is because I cannot, for the life of me, find an insurance company that is willing to figure out what coverage I'd need as a residence. We aren't interested in doing that because we are still keeping the house on the market, for sale by owner as a residence. I'm not really concerned with vandalism, as I only really see this being rented by local people -and even though the home is gorgeous, it isn't worth that much money because we live in a small town. Of course in addition to all of this I'd still be carrying Homeowners insurance. So my question is: are there any of you out there that are renting out a home with zero beds to people, specifically for the purpose of hosting events?

It is important that those who use Airbnb are respectful of local communities. That respect includes trying to avoid disturbing neighbors with disruptive parties, events, noise, or other disruptive behaviors and actions. This Policy covers our ban on disruptive gatherings and other community disturbances during listing stays or Experiences. We are committed to safe and responsible travel, and reducing the number of unauthorized parties at Airbnb listings has long been a priority. To help us achieve this, we take action, and may block certain reservations that we determine to be higher risk for unauthorized parties. We ask our community to work together to help prevent community disturbances and disruptive gatherings. Airbnb may take steps up to and including suspending or removing a guest, Host, or listing from the Airbnb platform if they fail to comply with our policies. Where a listing is advertised as party or event friendly, we may suspend the listing until the violating content is removed. We may also ask the Host to update their listing to include an explicit rule stating that parties and events are not allowed. In rare cases where it appears that the listing is intended primarily for the purpose of hosting parties or events for example, party or event venues , or where a listing has created a severe or chronic nuisance within a neighborhood, the listing may be permanently removed from Airbnb. Once an issue is reported to us, we will send a confirmation email explaining what happens next. This page also provides a link to local emergency services. Skip to content. Log in or sign up.
Hi Ashley, I'm really curious what you ended up doing here? Help with your business.
I hope this finds you well. I know this topic has possibly been done to death, but I'm new here and my attempts to find an answer were futile. I just have a question for the hosts and how they feel about renting for parties. The general impression I've gotten is that most hosts are terrified of parties as they have the right to be. There are many guests who would be completely negligent in the care of another's property, which is unfortunate. I'm in my early 30's and most of my friends are in the age range of Nothing wild at all.
While this may seem like the perfect option, it is important to remember that Airbnb has some very strict rules about hosting parties. In addition to Airbnb policies, individual hosts may have their own party restrictions. Airbnb has a strict no-party policy that includes an occupancy cap of 16 guests. However, if your group is less than 16 people and you follow Airbnb and host policies, you can still find a suitable Airbnb. You will need to search for a property that can accommodate your guests and has all the amenities you are looking for. In August of , Airbnb announced a global ban on all parties and events at Airbnb listings. Airbnb also implemented a person cap on all Airbnb occupancies. A smaller event, like a family vacation, bachelorette party, or birthday getaway may still be possible. If you meet the criteria mentioned above, you will most likely be able to find an Airbnb for a birthday party. Just follow the steps below to search for birthdays same as events.

HOWEVER, I've had very few inquiries for any parties it isn't really what people use abb for and the few inquiries I have received have not wanted to pay what I felt was a reasonable fee tor have a large group of people over for several hours. Start your search only with hosts who do not forbid parties. I have had my space listed for approx 10 months. While some event organisers do point out a number of disadvantages and highlight the strengths of traditional arrangements with licensed commercial tourism accommodation providers, it can be concluded overall that there is a naturally good fit between events and peer-to-peer accommodation. Arguably, such events may be more advantageous to destinations as they take place in existing infrastructure and bring revenue to the lodging industry Dermody et al. Ashley Level 1. Don't do it. Not surprisingly, therefore, Airbnb has made its collaboration with events a priority. The deal is said to be part of an effort by the International Olympic Committee to assist host cities in reducing the costs associated with the development of hotel infrastructure for the event. Traditionally, for example, student dormitories can be made available outside of university terms. Jarrod31 Level 2. What if I wanted to "advertise" a car rental busines This is very attractive as it improves the logistics associated with people moving around the destination and is perceived favourably by people who attend the events, making it easier to manage transfers on a daily basis. This collaborative approach benefitted the Olympic Games, London as a destination, and guests, who were provided with a standard Olympic Games information pack when staying in Airbnb-listed properties. It's not as simple as just rolling up with 20 pals for a fun evening on the host side.
