Alongside the Park is Craven Swimming Pool with a 25m pool, small separate shallow pool and pool inflatable sessions. Bolton Abbey is a beautiful area on the banks of the River Wharfe with many activities and walking trails and where you can find the ruins of Bolton Abbey Priory. Explore the dramatic moorland rock formations at Brimham rocks. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal are a world heritage site where you can find a year old abbey and Georgian water gardens with plenty of walking paths to take you through the stunning estate. We have reminders of yesteryear… exhibits of lead mining, minerals, craft tools, lathes, Dales farming, period costumes, domestic accoutrements, World War II memorabilia, folk lore and the days of the Yorkshire Dales Railway recalled. Haworth is a picturesque village surrounded by dramatic moorland and is home to the Bronte Parsonage Museum where the Bronte family lived from Kilnsey Park is your ideal location to enjoy the Yorkshire Dales.

But a far more ambitious modernisation programme has been drawn up, with plans to install a water flume, create a new "changing village", improve disabled access and provide a new cafe area. These additional plans are subject to the success of a bid being put in to the sports lottery fund - the second attempt at getting lottery cash for the council. The pool plans are part of a wider package of improvements for the Aireville Park area as a whole. These take in the stretch of canal from the town centre to the park in a bid to minimise car journeys by encouraging pedestrian access along the canal towpath, which will get new lighting, seating and resurfacing.
