Unfortunately, in doing so, the Jezebel trope for Black women evolved into Black women having a constant need for sex even though this narrative was falsely composed so white slave owners could justify their actions. The music industry is a glaring example of where the Jezebel trope has affected how Black women are stereotyped to conduct themselves. These expectations are most present in music videos.
