In his Demon form, Akaza is a very muscular but a slim man with very pale skin. His body is covered in thick blue lines which are similar to the criminal tattoos he had when he was a human. He has three curved lines on each side of his face running through his eyes, as well as one straight line starting from the top of his head to the bridge of his nose. Each of his fingers and toes are also colored blue with orange nails. Akaza has short pink hair and yellow eyes with a blue colored sclera, the kanji for Upper Moon Three written onto his irises. Akaza wears a sleeveless light purple haori with a square pattern on the back and is cropped at his waist that is left open showing off his chest. He has white baggy pants rolled up to below his knees and is tied at his hips with a blue tie and red tassels. He goes barefoot and has large beads tied around his ankles. As a human his looks were very similar, instead of pink his hair was black with pale blue eyes and wore a dark blue yukata. On each of his forearms he had three thick black lines showing that he was a criminal who stole.

Akaza was a very muscular young man of average height with skin so fair, it appears bright green-tinged white, decorated by a pattern of thick blue lines, which resemble the criminal tattoos he had as a human. On his arms, there are lines running down the front of his shoulders that run into two more, which go around his biceps, before continuing to run down to his wrists, below which it could be seen that each of his fingers are also dark blue with an orange fingernail, his toes also sharing this unusual appearance. Akaza wore little, only sporting a short, sleeveless dark purple-pink haori that was cut off at his waist, left open to expose his chest, that was decorated by a square pattern on his back. Below this, he sported a pair of baggy white pants that he rolled to just below the knee with a blue rope belt to secure them at his waist. Akaza prefers to go barefoot, but wears a chain of large round pink pearls around each of his ankles. During his human days as Hakuji, he had the same hair, just colored black rather than pink, and pale blue eyes with unusually-colored pink eyelashes.
