He could even defeat Oars on his own and that alone makes this transformation extremely overpowered. Gear Third is one of the many Gears that Luffy has developed, thanks to his incredible mastery of his Devil Fruit. This gear sees Luffy inflate his bones by biting into his thumb directly. The inflation leads to his body becoming akin to that of a giant and the power that he generates with this Gear is absolutely immense.
The only thing that all luffy transformations limit his power is his own imagination and anything that he can imagine, all luffy transformations, he can turn into reality. It must be noted, however, that the version of Tankman that Luffy used against Cracker was the full version and is a conditional technique. I thought about adding or not adding this form of Luffy because this was like a one-time thing.

Gear Fourth offers different variations, such as the tanky Tankman and the go-to transformation, Bounceman, which increases Luffy's strength and elasticity significantly. Luffy possesses, and it proves to be crucial in his fight against Charlotte Katakuri of the Big Mom Pirates. Even Charlotte Cracker, a pirate worth million berries, could not penetrate its defenses and was sent flying, being defeated in a single blow. Luffy developed Gear 4th during the 2-year timeskip on the island of Ruskaina, where he trained with gigantic animals. This transformation has only grown stronger over time.
