No, never heard of a pure Aluminum VW engine case.

The result should be a light brown colour. Is there anybody out there with experiance in magnesium case treatment? You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. I was under the impression that all the aircooled VW motors were made of a Magnesium-Aluminum alloy. I'm not sure about magnesium. Actually some T-1 cases were aluminum.

I can't get clear answers as to : is this still an issue? Is the quality worth waiting for? Are they still sand cast? Your opinions?

Would you just go to a magnesium super case at this point, or wait for the aluminum to become available? My case cracked and leaks oil under pressure, so I'm worried hearing these "poor quality" rumors! A bad case this time around will probably get me shot by my wife!

We are still processing and shipping orders from our warehouse as normal even while our site is offline. We sincerely appreciate your patience while we are doing these site upgrades. Our ability to respond to emails is greatly hampered by being under-staffed during this downsize transition time. But we continue to endeavor to answer email inquiries as best we can. Transaxle oil coolers help, too. Even without approaching upper end heat limits It's pretty much a standard anti corrosion treatment, most FBOs will have a tank. If you're trying to overtake a Mustang and stay out of the way of a Vette, you rev it.
