I was under the impression that all the aircooled VW motors were made of a Magnesium-Aluminum alloy. I'm not sure about magnesium. Actually some T-1 cases were aluminum.

I can't get clear answers as to : is this still an issue? Is the quality worth waiting for? Are they still sand cast? Your opinions?

Would you just go to a magnesium super case at this point, or wait for the aluminum to become available? My case cracked and leaks oil under pressure, so I'm worried hearing these "poor quality" rumors! A bad case this time around will probably get me shot by my wife!
