American Dad! The show remains under the creative control of the latter two creators and, unlike the humor found in Seth MacFarlane's Family Guy , revolves less around pop culture references and unrelated gags while maintaining its bizarre concept, focusing on everyday family life. The show is about the everyday lives of CIA agent Stan Smith and his family, a housewife named Francine, a hippie daughter named Hayley and a younger son named Steve, as well as a German Olympic ski jumper named Klaus who spends the rest of his life in the body of the family's pet fish and a roommate alien named Roger.
