Three years have been spent being committed to the case, and in the third year, Swann decided to lure out the ring by sending one of her agents, year-old Renee Matlin, undercover at a university. There, Renee befriended Lucy, who happened to be the ring's leader. Lucy apparently gained Renee's trust in order to have an abduction for the both of them be successfully staged.
