Equus magnus appears to be an ancestor of the modern horse. Based on its stripes, it may be the African variant of Equus giganteus, which appeared in North America during the Ice Age, but that is pure conjecture. Its behavior in the wild is similar to that of other wild members of the Equus genus - it sustains itself by grazing, while keeping safe from predators by living in herds and outrunning its attackers via superior speed and stamina. Horse and man have long been partners in survival, and this remains true on the Island. In Equus, survivors will find a trusty steed or pack animal that can carry them swiftly across land. Taming an Equus has proven interesting, requiring carefully approaching the creature in the wild, mounting it, and then carefully soothing over time by feeding it vegetables. In fact, Equus' reliability has lead some survivors to construct special saddles for them.

From the many, many MANY people complaining about the servers having worse performance than ASE, it should be assumed that anything which requires careful timing will not work well, or at least will not work well consistently. I haven't seen other thread about this on the forums, but maybe it's a problem specific to XBox. I have a keyboard attachment I bought that goes on my xbox controller and when it bucks press E on the keyboard. I was able to tame this way but not without keyboard. Hello, Xbox user as well and I am also having the issue. I never had this problem on Evolved. I am convinced that this is a bug. Especially after seeing someone else have the same issue. I first thought they changed the feed button when mounted. So it must still be the same button that is now acting as dismount instead of feed. This is incredibly frustrating and upsetting. Equus can be found in highlands or areas where there is clear and unobstructed view as these creatures love to roam around freely, safely and unhindered by anything. These creatures do not attempt to attack when approach by survivors but will run away the moment one gets too near. A tamed Equus can be a survivors best friend as it can get them through a lot during their early stages when starting out. Equus keep clear of predators whenever they can and will attempt to outrun them the moment, they feel threatened which keeps itself sustained. Although an Equus may be a bit of a challenge for some due to the different process it takes, these creatures are capable of becoming some of the most loyal steeds a survivor can get.

Equus could be identified in highlands and areas with a definite and unobstructed view since these beings enjoy roaming freely, safely, and without being bothered. When approaching survivors, such beings do not try to attack but flee whenever they get too close. Although the unusual procedure that an Equus goes through may make it difficult for some, these species are among the most faithful steeds any survivor can have. The Equus looks like a combination between a zebra and a giant modern domestic horse breed. It features a long mane, zebra-like striping, a horse-like tail, and a goat-like shaggy beard. In size, it seems to be similar to more giant horse breeds like the Shire horse, according to the dossier. Although an Equus might not be the appropriate choice for carrying a large amount of equipment, it does have enough storage space to carry the majority of what a survivor requires, and it may be equipped with a unique saddle that transforms it into a portable crafting station. Due to the unique saddle that the survivor may use for catching and pulling beasts, using an Equus allows the survivors to utilize a Lasso effectively. The Equus can knock out players, tames, and wild animals with a strong kick with its hindlegs that delivers damage and imposes torpor on opponents.
