Friday, February 12th, PM. I've had it for 2 years, works great. Yesterday, a tech visited to upgrade my equipment to a brand new BGW I also ordered a static IP address. What I want to do is have this device be as "dumb" as possible.

There's a feature hidden away in many routers that perform a crucial function when using your own Wi-Fi router with your internet service provider's hardware. Here's what you need to know about bridge mode. We'll refer to all of them as "bridge mode" for brevity unless specifically discussing passthrough mode. Bridge mode is a network setting on your router that instructs your router to stop functioning as a routera device that analyzes, handles, and directs network trafficand to start functioning as a simple pass-through device like a network switch. If this is the case I will stay with cable. You can be assured that they will confirm what I told you. Just curious as to why you don't want to use the "pseudo bridge mode". Bridge mode does not terminate traffic at the gateway while ip pass through does. Both provide similar functionality, ip passthrough limits functionality and performance.
