While some of the reasons animals are surrendered to shelters are unavoidable, others can be prevented-but only if shelters are willing to work with people to help them solve their problems.

Rusty is a beautiful boy who just loves spending time with his humans, although he will happily stay home with no issues if you need to go out and leave him. He loves all people he meets and will happily accept a scratch behind the ear from anyone willing to offer one. He enjoys going on adventures and loves going for a swim down at the river. He walks well on the lead and has been doing really well with recalls — we have been learning a whistle recall, and he is coming along really well with that. His training is progressing really well, and he just loves his training sessions. Working Paws aims to work with farmers, animal shelters, pounds, both regional and coastal, and with other dog rescue groups to provide assistance, support and rehoming of working dogs, who, for whatever reason, have found themselves homeless.
