Auslan has an alphabet which we call fingerspelling. Fingerspelling is an integrated feature of Auslan. Often, fingerspelling will be used for nouns such as names of places or people. Fingerspelling is also often used for loanwords, where there is no allocated sign for a specific word. Titles of books, movies or tv series are finger spelt if printed in English.
