He told a reluctant Jake he should become the next clan leader; although Jake was reluctant to lead, claiming he is not officer material, Tsu'tey reaffirmed his dying wish. Tsu'tey was granted a merciful death at his request by Jake. Tsu'tey was born in the Omatikaya clan, as the first son of Ateyo and Artsutavatar tsutey, along with his younger brother Arvok.

Dort berichtete Tsu'tey Eytukan von der Sachlage. Er wurde jedoch von Neytiri von seinem Vorhaben abgehalten. Gerade noch rechtzeitig konnte Tsu'tey zusammen mit anderen Kriegern vom Baum fliehen. Kurz danach erfuhr er vom Tod Eytukans und wurde Olo'eyktan der Omaticaya. Zusammen riefen sie das Volk zum Kampf auf. Tsu'tey's Banshee was a mountain banshee that was tamed by Tsu'tey , the greatest warrior and former Olo'eyktan of the Omatikaya Clan. This banshee has a distinctive dark blue color, with navy and yellow spots on its upperparts, and a light yellow belly and underwings. From the back of his mount, Tsu'tey successfully kills a sturmbeest on the hunt. During the assault on Hometree , Tsu'tey rallied the Ikran Makto riders and climbed to the top of the tree to mount their banshees and attack the Sky People from the air. When the Hometree began to tilt Tsu'tey called his Ikran and they managed to escape before being crushed. In the movie Tsu'tey followed Jake as Toruk Makto on his banshee to unite the Na'vi clans, but in the Avatar: Tsu'tey's Path comic strip, he stayed behind in the Tree of Souls to care for the survivors of the Omatikaya. During the battle for the Tree of Souls , Tsu'tey attacks from the air with his banshee, shooting down the Scorpion and Samson pilots. At one point, he jumps out of the back of his ikran to get to the Valkyrie 's shuttle, where he kills several RDA soldiers, but was shot down by one.
