This exquisite basketry collection showcases the extraordinary skills of our Master Weavers--born with an innate talent and desire to create! Our Ayeratukko basket has been inspired by our local environment, fluctuated with our signature wave technique. Ayeratukko is the name of the huge nests built by very small birds here in the Upper East Region of Ghana. In launching our new collection of hats we look to interpret the local Gurunsi folklore and traditional culture of baskets into new forms that in turn create meaningful employment for our talented artisans. Creating from local textile waste from the Bolgtanga markets we seek to introduce new colour and colour ways previously not available to us, exchange knowledge and empowerment and encourage collaboration.
