He is the primary antagonist of the entire Baki franchise. Yuujirou is the son of Yuuichirou Hanma and the strongest character in the series thus far. Yuujirou works as a highly-paid freelance mercenary and assassin for various governments and organizations. The Grandmaster was a martial arts expert with over a century worth of experience. Despite this, Yuujiro tossed him around like a rag doll, proving his immense strength as a martial arts practitioner. Jack Hanma is a pit fighter from Canada and a product of Yuujiro's affair with Diane Neil , a United Nations operative whom Yuujiro met in the Vietnam war during his younger days.

At the end of the Jun Guevaru baki dad Biscuit Oliva's battle, Yuujirou briefly shows up in Guevaru's hallucination, congratulating him on beating Biscuit Oliva.

The manga series Baki the Grappler and its sequels feature a large cast of fictional characters created by Keisuke Itagaki. It follows teenager Baki Hanma as he trains and tests his fighting skills against a variety of different opponents in deadly, no rules hand-to-hand combat.
