Bakugo Katsuki is one of the most complicated characters in My Hero Academia , and with a complicated character comes even more complicated parents. Luckily, series creator Kohei Horikoshi has fleshed out his world enough that even Bakugo's parents have been given backstories. In fact Bakugo's parents are so fleshed out, Horikoshi released an explainer for the two and how they met in order to make fans love them even more. According to the explainer, Bakugo gets his explosive powers from a combination of his father's acid sweat and his mother's Glycerin quirks. His father's quirk isn't too powerful but he wanted to be a pro hero too until he found more success with a career in the design industry.
