Once Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy, has been slain, the residents of the Volcano Manor will relocate to other areas, including Bernahl. Tarnished adventurers can encounter him for a final time in Crumbling Farum Azula, within the spire with the Old Lord's Talisman. Knight Bernahl will invade the player, challenging them to duel.

Killed him at warmaster's shack before doing anything with volcano manor, got the set with the altered chestpiece was really glad not to do the assassination quests for the 5th time.
