The main difference between the products is a new and, according to the brand, improved nonstick coating that will last for longer and has the ability to go in the oven. Flaws but not dealbreakers. Where we did see improvement was in the new stainless-steel handle, which made the pan ovenproof and able to transfer from stovetop to oven. It did have good heat distribution, though. In everyday use this pan easily releases eggs without sticking, sears meat with excellent color, and cleans up with little more than a quick wipe.
