I want to put mine in the lilypad biome but it seems too far away from everything. I like how close a bunch of stuff is to the west side of the map with the eye jellies but the biome is just bland. I'm considering a base on land but I think I'd prefer underwater. Twisty bridges is another option I'm thinking of since it's kind of in the middle of everything. So where is your base? Where are you planning to put one?
