My husband and I are headed to Santorini mid-June. Don't take our word for it. Would appreciate suggestions for dinner before getting the ferry to Ios. Went here for lunch. A wonderful evening dining to share with some family and friends. The place was packed and we were quite lucky to get a spot without reservation. Better to avoid peak hours as the road leading here is real narrow and jam packed with rental cars and tour vans making it hard to get out. Service was a little slow but it seems like a popular restaurant so understandable. Go for drinks along the boardwalk in Kamari or see a movie at the outdoor cinema also Kamari but out of town just a little — on the way to Metaxy Mas. In conclusion, Sunset Ammoudi by Paraskevas offers delectable food in a stunning location. This restaurant is tucked away off the promenade before the clock tower and down a path by the photography art shop. The cheaper the place the more single-traveler friendly they feel. We ate out every day, and I think Melitini is one of my favorite. What's nice about this place, is that the food portion is pretty large considering it is a tapas place. Seafood served was fresh and delicious. We are meeting friends for a birthday lunch. It is expensive so mentally prepare for that. Popular with locals. If you want a view of the caldera and great food then Naoussa is a 5 minute walk from the bus station. Situated on Ammoudi Bay in Oia, Santorini, it offers stunning ocean views and is considered one of the best spots to dine in town. It can get chilly along the caldera at night regardless of how warm it was through the day. Take a bus from Fira and get off in Pyrgos.
