You'll pass the Skylon on the way into town if you take the bus from the airport, and that's a major selling point for the hotel: the airport is just over ten minutes away by car there's free on-site parking , or about twice that on the bus, and it's also a quick hop into the main attractions of Dublin too, in the other direction. Plus rooms are large and bright, staff are very welcoming, and the communal areas are actually quite stylish affairs, all rich velvets and hardwood floors. Tip The hotel is in historic Drumcondra neighborhood - once occupied by James Joyce, the area is worth a look around in its own right, particularly for the lovely Botanic Gardens. Rooms are spacious, and you can get a twin or double. Tones are rich - purples, reds - with crisp white linens and comfortable Respa beds. You Should Know There's no air-conditioning, which it would be reasonable to expect in a modern hotel of this quality. Lots of the bathrooms have a bath and a shower - some just have a shower - which is unusual in Dublin, and worth asking for when you book.
