The Big agnes Isulated q-core deluxe is an excellent, warm and comfortable sleeping pad. Throughout the years I have used all kinds of sleeping pads in varying climates and terrain. In my early years of transitioning to ultralight I used the lightest possible sleeping pads I could find. What resulted was often a horrible nights sleep for me and in turn, a horrible days hike. While my body often got used to the bad sleeping pads, as far as comfort is concerned, a cold mat was never fun. It didn't matter how warm a sleeping bag I had, if my pad wasn't up to par, I would freeze. Over the years companies have brought out good UL pads - starting with Thermarest X-lite.

I have slept on it in temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to 75 degrees and on surfaces ranging from rocky, granite ground to plush grass.

Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean. The slipping was minimal and it didn't bother me much. This is hands down the most comfortable sleeping pad I have ever bought! Both the bottom and the top of the Q-core are very durable. This pad is more of a "jack of all trades" kinda pad and less of a specialist in one area. Weight: gram. I've since paired it with a lightweight BA sleeping back, the Horse Thief 35 , and love the system, really well thought out. I would very much recommend this product to my closest friends and even my enemies! It's very well insulated and the 3. It rolls up into its stuff size just a little bigger than a Nalgene and I think the regular size which I have weighs in at 25oz. Add to compare Compare Divide Insulated. Big Agnes tells us that the updated Insulated Q-Core SLX is essentially the same design as last year's pad — they've just changed the name and included an inflation sack. The previous model was also insulated; this year's model, however, has changed some of the internal organization of the insulation. The R-Value is 3.

Lightweight sucks if you are stiff and sore in the morning, or lost a lot of heat to the ground! Additionally, the material this valve is made from feels like a dense compliant rubber rather than brittle plastic, which bodes well for durability and the likely scenario of someone stepping on the valve at some point. Big Agnes has fabulous customer service. I've since paired it with a lightweight BA sleeping back, the Horse Thief 35 , and love the system, really well thought out. The weight, comfort, and warmth are all on point, but the overall package does lag behind some of the ultralights yet high performing offerings on the market currently. The material is thinner than what you would find on a self inflating pad, but this is tradeoff is what makes it so much lighter. Do not bleach, iron, or dry clean. Side sleepers should take a long hard look at this pad, as the massively thick pad guards from bottoming out even without pumping to maximum capacity, and clever side rails make tossing and turning less problematic. A beefier sleeping bag or warm pad might have done the trick. Worth the effort to get a good night's sleep. Free headrush! Store in a cool, dry place away from heat sources.
