Remember Me? BMW Models. Results 1 to 17 of Thread Tools Show Printable Version. I removed the under dash cover today to fix the tilt wheel on the steering column. It appears the plastics underneath are coming apart, and there is a weird yellow glue. What type of glue is this and where can i get it? I have the same problem with the glovebox, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JSGrind. Do a search for sagging glovebox but don't expect permanant results unless you decide to replace the entire glovebox. Its impossible to say what that yellow stuff is or even guess what it used to be. Ive had the tilt section apart before and I recall any yellow stuff. In fact I dont remember any adhesive at all on any of those under dash parts or any of the tilt steering column parts. Yellow or biege tends to bring Gorilla Glue to mind.

Yes, the glovebox has two-way action: it opens and extends outward, for easy access to its contents from the driver seat. If your glovebox does not smoothly operate as in the brief video below, it's time to replace both glovebox struts. This would be a trivial job were it not for the length of the new extension strut, which makes it impossible to install without compressing it first see Procedure below. The glovebox needs to be removed for access but don't worry, that's an easy task.
