Calamity summoner guide
The Calamity Mod adds a plethora of new weapons and equipment for all classes, including its new rogue class, to use throughout the game. Calamity also adds many difficult boss encounters and other situations in which class builds should be optimized to succeed efficiently. This guide will show potential weapon and equipment builds for each of the five classes at various points in the game's progression. Melee — The melee class sports the highest defense on average and decent crowd control, but many melee weapons have short attack range, and those that do attack from a distance tend to have below-average DPS. Ranger — The ranged class is a powerful bossing class with very high single-target damage output and can attack from a long range. Ranged users must gather materials to craft ammunition , but this is not a significant drawback. Mage — The magic class is fragile but highly varied in attack style, often utilizing special mechanics such as homing and area-of-effect damage. It is held back by reliance on mana , which regenerates very slowly unless the Mana Regeneration buff is in effect. Mages must craft or purchase mana potions if they wish to use high-mana-cost weapons for extended periods of time. Summoner — The summoning class is good at dealing with multiple threats, but most summoner armors have low defense, and minions are often inaccurate against enemies that move very quickly. Summon weapons can be used in conjunction with other classes, however, the player must note summoning weapons' frequent conflicts with Immunity frames and Calamity's minion damage nerf when holding other weapons. Rogue — The rogue class is a brand-new class created by the Calamity mod that generally consists of thrown weapons. It utilizes a unique stealth mechanic that adds new attacks to many rogue weapons , decreases enemy Aggro, and increases overall damage done by rogue weapons. All — This "class" describes usable gear and items for all classes. Any equipment, such as accessories and armor, that is not specific to a class will be listed here.

Minions are secondary characters and the main vessel of attack for the Summoner class. The Calamity Mod adds a variety of new minions that can be summoned with weapons, accessories or armor sets. Summon weapons are weapons which summon a minion to fight for the player. They act similarly to magic weapons in that they consume mana , but while magic weapons deal damage directly from the weapon, summon weapons attack autonomously from the player's input and targets can be manually switched with the Interact defaults to right click key to a different target. Tools and Classless weapons will not inflict the penalty when held, and certain armor reduces the summoner penalty altogether.
It is summoned using the Cosmic Worm anywhere, at any time. This guide will mention Expert Mode and Revengeance Mode exclusive accessories with no special formatting and will follow the intended progression. A long sky arena with 2 platforms, 3 for extra care, spaced about 30 blocks apart works for the Devourer, as this will make its multitude of attacks easier to dodge. Once summoned, the Devourer will initially start in its "passive" phase. This phase is indicated by the sky turning blue and the Warped debuff being inflicted on the player, which exaggerates vertical movements. The Devourer will behave much like a Crawltipede in this phase, flying and circling the player in the air. The player must take care to not fly too high in this phase, otherwise the Devourer will quickly ram them, and it will be difficult to get back onto the platform due to the debuff. Running in one direction works for this phase. The passive phase will initially last for 15 seconds, with its length decreasing as the Devourer loses health. After this passes, The Devourer will enter its "aggressive" phase, indicated by the sky turning purple and the Extreme Gravity debuff being inflicted, disabling infinite flight and cutting flight time substantially.
