For those unfamiliar, Calling All Heroes is our gender-inclusivity initiative aimed at supporting members of marginalized gender-identities. You can learn more about it at callingallheroes. The Challengers Series will take up the mantle and replace the Challengers Cup, providing ongoing opportunities for members of the Calling All Heroes community to showcase and grow their skills. The Challengers Series will function as a year-long competitive circuit featuring recurring qualifier events hosted by third-party organizers, with the regular season taking place from April to November The top teams at the end of the circuit will qualify for a Championship event hosted by Blizzard in February , with a Last-Chance Qualifier to be held in January Challengers Series tournaments will be broadcast across Overwatch Esports and tournament partner channels.

The Overwatch Contenders community has also only seen a handful of female or nonbinary competitors in its history, with many potential talents lost to toxicity and a lack of opportunities. As Overwatch 2 enters early access on Oct. The Overwatch League is also committing to this promise, partnering up with its parent game to support the Calling All Heroes initiative. To further the goal of inclusivity, the Calling All Heroes initiative will be hosting a Challengers Cup and Caster Camp to raise the star power of players and talent from underrepresented genders.
