Old-school animation fans of Transformers will remember the car was a VW Beetle. When the Transformers movies started to be made, a model Chevrolet Camaro took over the role. Its color changed as time went on, too, changing into an amber-looking shade. Bay also decided to simply let the Autobot communicate only by some radio signals, according to HotCars.
