Atlantic Canadian Dachshund Rescue is an all-volunteer charitable organization that focuses on dachshunds and dachshund mixes. It now operates throughout the four Atlantic provinces.
Our mission is to match each dog with the loving forever family they deserve. Canadian Dachshund Rescue Ontario was founded in to support the overwhelming number of dachshunds experiencing neglect or facing euthanasia through no fault of their own. We therefore strive to rescue and rehome abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dachshunds and dachshund mixes. The rescue is entirely governed and operated by volunteers and does not place dogs in a central shelter. All dachshunds are fostered in a loving home environment until they are successfully matched with their forever family.

Adoptions are vital to an agency's lifesaving mission. The quantity and quality of shelter adoptions is in shelter management's hands, making lifesaving a direct function of shelter policies and practice.
