Another excellent total body strength workout. I love unilateral training and Caroline has created some excellent unilateral workouts.
What an excellent total body strength workout! Caroline exhausts each muscle group completely before moving on to the next muscle group. Each muscle group gets 3 exercises and by that 3rd exercises, whatever muscle group we were working was done. Especially my shoulders. On Friday I just started using 20s for my shoulders Day 25 workout but this morning I could only manage one set with the 20s today before dropping to 18s.

That workout uses very light dumbbells but my shoulders were so fried from this workout that even those light dumbbells were making my shoulders burn!

Wow—what an intense shoulder burn out! As with every Iron Series workout I do, I come to it trying to lift heavier for at least one exercise. This morning it was Arnold press, which is the staple exercise in this workout. It is done 6 times. So I am definitely seeing some strength gains from this series.

This was an excellent total body strength workout. In fact, I felt really strong while doing this workout—as if I could have lifted heavier on some of the exercises. I am already lifting heavier dumbbells thanks to all of the Iron Series workouts preceding this one! This workout is done PHA style. What this means in training terms is you alternate between upper and lower body resistance exercises. PHA is usually done circuit fashion with little rest between exercises for a higher calorie burn while also giving muscle groups adequate recovery time. However, the long rest periods between muscle groups means your muscles are completely rested when you return to the exercise.

There is also a little bar at the bottom of the screen that counts down the entire workout time as a percentage. All of the exercises in this workout are done interval style: 60 seconds of work followed by 30 seconds of rest. During the recovery Caroline previews the next exercise.
