Passenger to Crew Ratio:. As the first ship to undergo the Celebrity Revolution modernization program, Celebrity Millennium was refurbished in February receiving a bow-to-stern upgrades. The transformation included new boutiques, redesigned staterooms, updated restaurants, and an enhanced spa area with exciting new features, such as a Turkish bath, salt therapy area, and an infrared sauna. To enhance connectivity, Millennium added advanced pervasive Xcelerate Wi-Fi throughout the vessel. Asian itineraries range from 10 to 14 nights and sail to a wide variety of regions, including China, Vietnam, and a transpacific Bering Sea and Japan cruise.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to sail aboard the Celebrity Millennium on an epic cruise to Alaska , and it was seriously one of the best trips of my life. Everything from the staterooms, restaurants, lounges, and common areas had such a chic and sophisticated look that was reminiscent of a high-end boutique hotel. The service was top-notch, and every single crew member encountered had such a big smile on their faces and seemed genuinely happy to see us. We really loved getting to know all of these wonderful people on board who made our sailing an amazing experience to remember. Not only that, Celebrity threw in some little touches of hospitality to make our cruise memorable — like little pastries and chocolates left on our bed every night after turndown service, along with the daily schedule. Not only that, I was absolutely blown away by the food and beverage program on board — as a foodie, this was something that I really looked forward to and it did not disappoint! From the main dining rooms, the specialty restaurant, and the cocktail bars, everything I consumed on board was such a treat. I absolutely enjoyed my time, from the time the ship set sail from Seattle , through our time in Alaska, and was truly sad to see it end. It was such an incredible experience, and I do not hesitate in recommending the Celebrity Millennium to anyone! Japan is a great place to visit and did not disappoint us in any way, but sadly the cruise itself will be remembered for the changes to the itinerary and the many hours of senseless standing around and the time wasted with queuing. We accept typhoon Trami could not be avoided, but Celebrity must have known of it's existence, and that it would cause massive disruption, but they did not seem to be prepared or have any contingency plans. Hence the chaos, confusion and plans made 'on the hoof' plus the lack of any coherent communication to passengers exacerbated an already fraught situation. We had severe changes to the itinerary and did not visit 2 ports which we had wanted to see, instead going to one port twice. The waiting times to go ashore were sometimes very lengthy, for example Nagasaki which we went to instead of Hiroshima advertised as a full day ashore turned out to be half a day due to the wait at Japanese custom. There were no adequate warnings this would be as bad as it was, and there was scant sympathy when people became exasperated with hours of fruitless hanging around.

Celebrity Millennium is not one of those glitzy mega-ships with rock climbing walls, trampolines and craft breweries. This refit added a new deep-blue livery, refreshed public rooms, cabins, and some features and decor inspired by the line's trendsetting Celebrity Edge. The cruise line has maintained the ship well and it retains a timeless, yet modern beauty that can be seen everywhere onboard.

It is less crowded. Points of interest. The drink menu here features a selection of cocktails that are inspired by zodiac signs, and it was fun to see if the drink for your sign matches your personality — mine did not, but I had fun sampling all the drinks for the other signs! It's a hub for activity day and night. For reference, I am a female in my mids and I felt that Celebrity fit my needs of what I wanted out of a cruise, and best reflected my personal values. Travelers can stay active on the ship's fresh-air jogging track and top-deck basketball court, or relax poolside at the serene, adults-only Solarium.
