With a brand-new commercial featuring its first Black Coco Mademoiselle spokesmodel, actress Whitney Peak, who has taken over for previous Chanel Mademoiselle spokesperson Keira Knightley. Peak has previously worked for Chanel in numerous campaigns for its other brands, including their 22 Bags advertising blitz for their handbag line, and serving as their US Local Ambassador in Peak's first ad for Coco Mademoiselle features her frolicking through Paris — dancing in the deep of night at various clubs, traveling around town in a convertible with friends, gliding through the air on a swing in a playground, and chilling out alone at her hotel room after a long night and day. It's an atmosphere of beauty and calm and yet electric energy. The elegance of her sojourning is underscored by this propulsive, disco-like dance track. Lear has led quite the unusual life.

The moment marks a first: The year-old Gossip Girl star who previously appeared in the Chanel 22 Bag campaign alongside Lily-Rose Depp will become the first Black spokesmodel for a scent by the famed French fashion house. She takes the Coco Mademoiselle reins from Keira Knightley , who has fronted the franchise since when she, incidentally, was also The fragrance, meant to embody the wild spirit of a young Gabrielle Chanel who, by the way, moved to Paris in her early 20s to forge a unique path , is at once strong and soft, playful yet assertive, with heady notes of amber and patchouli. Thanks to the actress' decade-long relationship with the fragrance she was just 22 when first cast as the face of the scent in , and will be turning 33 next month , Knightley is now synonymous with Coco Mademoiselle - thanks in no small part to the success of the commercials and her interpretation of the mysterious, coquettish protagonist. It memorably saw the actress jumping on a motorbike and riding through Paris and had more than 9 million views.
