I can ultimately relate to both characters, Charlie and Lola, because I typically stay up all night, or try to at least, and usually am not tired until 11 o' clock, not 6, like Lola. Later we wanted the dog in the TV series to be a sausage dog. I decided that rather than charlie and lola pyjamas her excited about school, I would make her ambivalent, and, to keep Lola feeling like Lola, I would give her an invisible friend.

Lots of imaginative hilarity ensues. Lola never gets tired. Longer, with a lot more going on in the illustrations, than in the mini-but-still-worthy 'based on characters' books.
