The Compustar remote start will not start unless it is put into something they call reservation mode. You put the car in neutral, put the parking brake on, take your foot off of the brake, remove the key from the ignition. The car continues to run, kind of freaky. When you get out of the car and close the door, the car shuts off and the doors lock. Then you get this nice musical beep on the remote letting you know the car is ready for remote starting. When you remote start, the remote tells you the car is running. I am aware of the safety issues with a manual transmission with remote start.
