I highly doubt it though since that would make all the shortcuts obsolete and make the whole dying thing a non issue. The shortcuts do a pretty dam good job though, once you feel your out in the middle of nowhere they give you one, that brings you right back to the firelink shrine. Sometimes in between the dying, the killing and the struggling to stay alive by killing it pays to take a break.
