Fatshark's decision to remove the scoreboard from Warhammer 40, Darktide has divided opinion among players. There's one feature in Warhammer: Vermintide 2 that was dropped for Darktide , causing some disagreement and debate in the community. If you're familiar with both games, then you probably already know what I am talking about. It is the Scoreboard. In Vermintide 2, at the end of every game, a scoreboard is displayed showing some stats for each player or bot who took part in the level. For many players, this is a helpful way of judging how well they played and if their build is measuring up to its intended role - for example someone playing a build focused on long ranged weapons will likely want to see if they are doing a good job of eliminating specials before they cause problems for the team.

Is it possible the whole scoreboard discussion has been ruined by people who afraid of how bad they are at the game and are demanding some superficial protection from numbers on a screen? I want to know how well I did, and I want to know how well my team did. If people are so terrified of toxicity they can mute in game chat and voice chat, or play a single player game. I think it slowly erodes the morale of everyone who plays the game. And this comes from someone who got best in almost all stats nearly every game in V2. Idk about you, but i try to make improvements after every match. Every time i was downed, or missed a revive on a teammate, or took a large unnecessary hit from a special. Just because you didnt do more damage than your teammates doesnt mean you need to go out of your way to do more blanket damage next game. Playing recklessly for stats is something that definitely happens, and makes higher level missions more difficult since that usually results in more chip damage taken. Just my opinion on this system. If they might increase toxicity, then what is the benefit that offsets this fear?
With a surge staff, you can seem to have not helped, if you consider what displays the score board… even if you were really helpful. I know well enough if I prioritised something over high numbers at points in the run, darktide scoreboard.
According to independent research done on reddit , approximately But I would appreciate to see how many dodges I did, how many attacks blocked, the number of time I died, how many time I have fallen on floor, how many teammates I revived, how many I liberated etc… But a score… no thanks. Tbh, I modified the scoreboard mod to remove the score and display the kills by enemy type. Miss the horde enemies…. If you really need it, there is a mod for that. For me it is pretty obvious who did well in a mission.

If they might increase toxicity, then what is the benefit that offsets this fear? Such people will be toxic regardless and there is absolutely no point in removing information in some hope that this will make toxic players nice. A possible middle ground could be to have a scoreboard but remove the "green circles" that, in the view of some players at least, incentivize unnecessary risk-taking. There was a pretty good counter argument against this from one user though, who put forward the idea that toxic players are always going to be toxic regardless of whether or not there is a scoreboard - and the lack of a scoreboard could actually make toxic behavior more of a problem because some players will have a tendency to blame others for party wipes, when in many cases the scoreboard could show them to be wrong to do so. It is a key part of co-op games that was in every other tide game for this reason. There has been some discussion and debate about this over on a Reddit thread , and the main arguments for the removal of the Scoreboard boil down to two things - toxicity and a problematic incentive to push your luck in risky situations to get the best scores. I think it slowly erodes the morale of everyone who plays the game. Discussions Rules and Guidelines. As someone who has used the scoreboard since it released, I have never in the hours since downloading it seen anyone do anything toxic regarding the scoreboard. I run the game in 2K x and It's fine. But I would appreciate to see how many dodges I did, how many attacks blocked, the number of time I died, how many time I have fallen on floor, how many teammates I revived, how many I liberated etc… But a score… no thanks. Gameplay Feedback. If you need this, you die too many times Unless there is a comparison to the other players from your team, your numbers do not really mean anything. WTF FS? Who it won't work for : People who currently use Darktide mods they most likely already have the scoreboard mod or know the steps to get it. Ralendil March 14, , pm 4. Current visibility: Hidden. What matters to me are the individual line items and seeing where I did well or poorly. Who it won't work for : People who currently use Darktide mods they most likely already have the scoreboard mod or know the steps to get it. It is utter nonsense, and it sabotages many fun aspects of coop games. It tends to become toxic to see people arguing about the contribution of players just by the numbers of this "score"board.
