Dragon Ball Z 's "Saiyan Saga" is one of the most iconic arcs in anime. It marked Piccolo's turning point from brooding baddie to begrudging ally, introduced fan-favorite martial arts master King Ka , and revealed the intergalactic origins of the now internationally famous Son Goku. The "Saiyan Saga" also introduced audiences to the franchise's villain-turned-hero Vegeta and his subordinate, the monstrous mountain of muscle Nappa. Since his first appearance in Episode 5, Nappa has cultivated an unshakable, devoted fan base. However, despite his dedicated following and low-key popularity, Nappa is also unfairly dismissed as something of a stock character or -- much worse -- a punchline. It's true that Nappa was effortlessly dispatched by Goku upon the latter's return from Other World and that Nappa's power was empirically inferior to Vegeta's, but Nappa proved himself as the arc's superior villain by virtue of one important metric: body count. These three held the topmost positions of power among the six Z Fighters available to challenge the Saiyan threat, and Nappa defeated each of them without a qualm.

His mustache has grown slightly thicker and noticeably longer. It is also split into two sections again, but noticeably has peach fuzz in the middle noting he shaved it sometime while he was dead, and it is growing back. Like most Saiyans, Nappa wears a scouter.

Whenever Vegeta tells off Nappa for acting asinine, dbz nappa, or not listening, Nappa apologizes to Vegeta, usually in a slightly fearful state, and then proceeds to claim he was not thinking straight, showing his respect for Vegeta. Rappa heavily resembles Nappa, though with Raditz's long hair and wears a Metamo-Ring on his left aritizia.

Appearing as the second in a rolling roulette of super-powered villains in Dragon Ball Z , Nappa accompanied Prince Vegeta to Earth in order to collect the seven Dragon Balls for the sake of wishing for immortality. After the demise of Goku's long-lost brother, Raditz, Nappa and Vegeta filled the role as the Z Fighters' primary antagonists.

He is also hostile towards Android 17 when the Park Ranger kills several of his Saibamen for endangering the local ecosystem in a Extra Pack 2 DLC Parallel Quest, indicating Nappa cares about the Saibamen he grows with the exception of those that he grows for training purposes. Inside they and Goku confront Vegeta, who has reunited with his comrades Nappa and Raditz who survived or were seemingly revived by the anomaly. As Vegeta exits out of the training room, Nappa gives Vegeta his armor and remarks the prince as the best, but Vegeta tells him to quit bootlicking. After seemingly finding nothing, Great Saiyaman 3 is about to order the two to look elsewhere, when the sky starts to fill with dark clouds, indicating the presence of an anomaly. He is also slightly insulted when the Warrior gives him a toupee as a gift, though takes it anyway indicating he is sensitive about going bald due to his age. Nappa is stated to be one of the few mid-class warriors boasting a power-level of 4, Despite this, when he was partnered with Vegeta and Raditz , he was the most honorable of the three before Vegeta reformed. Nappa leaps into the air. Nappa attacked Gohan, bullying him, sitting on him while face up, and threatening him with fart jokes. However, Vegeta is not surprised noting that keeping up with him is a prerequisite of those that swear fealty to the Prince of all Saiyans before welcoming them to the show, noting that Hell hath arrived for them and encourages them to run around as it will make the hunt more fun for himself and his subordinates. It is implied that Nappa follows Frieza mainly out of fear and due to his grudge against Vegeta and Kakarot which is shared by Frieza and the Ginyu Force. At first Nappa's training consists of the three fighting groups of Saibamen one after the other in order to build up their stamina.
