Devil forge

Hi all, I'm brand new to the site but I've trolled it for about 2 months. I've been wanting to get into blacksmithing for a few years now and finally made the jump. I've got a homemade coal forge but really wanted to try a propane one. Every single thread talks about making your own but when I saw the price on this I couldn't pass it up. The reviews on YouTube were positive, it now comes with the American fittings and the price of purchasing 2 burners is darn near as much as this entire forge. It doesn't have the 2" of recommended coating only 1" and it'll still need ITC or something similar but for someone just starting out the price was amazing. Even if it only lasts 1 year I figure I could make a better insulated one when I have more confidence and utilize the parts from this one. Well, I hope I didn't make a mistake but regardless I'm just really glad to finally be on this site! Take care everyone! For the experience and the parts and plumbing it's not a bad start. I wouldn't worry about adding insulation if the burners work well just a coating on what's there would be a good idea. More insulation might create a back pressure problem with the burners. Thank you for saving me from a possible problem. These forges are lined with 1" ceramic wool so after reading everything on this site I absolutely plan to coat it. Do you have a preference, ITC or Satanite or any refractory mortar?

End of speech. You can find my contact information on my profile, devil forge. Let me know if I can help you.

If you've come across Devil-Forge foundries, then like me you may be a little cynical. Just 10 minutes on YouTube seems to have these forges popping up everywhere. Lots of YouTubers seem to have them. And that made me think it was just a marketing scam. So when Devil-Forge offered to send me their FB2M home foundry, free of charge, asking if I'd be willing to do a review on it, I said what I always say If there's something I don't like, I will say so. When it arrived, the box was a little battered, which was not their fault of course, but it clouded my mind a little.

I'd imagine all the positive reviews are from first-time forgers who have never used anything to have as a comparison. RogueGeek Posted October 17, As you pointed out, I'm doing research, and with new information, my position may very well change. You will also know how to make your own with a little flare. If you can find some that look like they've been on the shelf since Noah made landfall, get those and don't move them more than you need to. It has a Frosty T-burner, and those are good IF they're properly made, and that one looks like it is. The first is the amount of gas being burned and this is controlled by adjusting the gas pressure. We explored his assholiness over at AA. This one does NOT have a brick in the bottom for a floor, so that offers a true 5" ish by 5" by 12" interior chamber.

Capacity: Suitable for max.

I have long wanted a ball valve, and to have the hose further away from the heat MAJOR design flaw imho. I prefer kast-o-lite. But, I have some projects that I'm working on, and my friends and I are very eager to get to it, and use our very limited time actually pounding steel rather than attempting to construct a forge. My experience suggests that the size of the openings has more effect on the amount of burner needed than the volume. And I don't know Best Large printer? I removed the burner from the forge and fired it up for a few minutes to try and tune it a bit. I searched this forum on casting not much available here, mostly welding posts. Recommended Posts. Basically, you have two variables that are under your control: the gas pressure and the choke adjustment. Never thought you as either smug or judgmental. They always use an electric furnace induction or arc. Looks like I would expect.
