Players' choices matter in every conversation , the turn-based combat is reminiscent of Dungeons and Dragons, and the sprawling storyline makes for a new experience with every new game. There are many companions to bring into the party in Divinity Original Sin 2, perhaps the most iconic of whom is Fane. At first glance, Fane is a skeletal know-it-all searching for his missing mask, but there's a lot more enigma to this character than meets the eye. Should the player choose Fane for his origin story, they are taken on a mysterious quest focused on the disappearance of Fane's people — the Eternals. That's right — Fane is not a skeleton, and he will rudely remind everybody who asks of that fact. Fane belongs to a long-dead race called the Eternals, a precursor race to the seven races of Rivellon who shared features of the seven races to come. When the Seven Gods of the Eternals gifted their Source to the world, the seven races were born, each bearing the features of one of the gods. Fane, along with most of the other Eternals, did not support this decision and helped to seal away the gods, but it was too late. In Divinity Original Sin 2, Fane wakes up with little knowledge of his people's past and seeks to uncover this long-forgotten history. Fane's origin quest begins with him looking for his Mask of the Shapeshifter and goes on to uncover the secrets left by the Eternals throughout Rivellon. Their presence is felt everywhere and in everything, and Fane even has special dialogue when interacting with relics related to the Seven Gods. The lore of Divinity Original Sin 2 is deep, complex, and sprawling.

Divinity doesn't deal with decisions as things that happen in discrete moments though, instead it's built on a set of rules and mechanics that assume players might do anything that the ruleset allows. There's a second Face Ripper in Ryker's basement room that you open with the lever beside the mirror.
Faces were ripped, children were startled, feasting on cadavers quickly became routine. I love Divinity but in among all the elves and dwarves, I sometimes forget just how weird it is. When you're playing a skeleton, it's going to be weirder than ever. When you create an undead character, as with the other races in the game you can choose to play with a pre-built 'Origin' character or create a custom one of your own. The Origin characters have their own backstories that branch off into quests and stories as you play, and they all exist in the world as NPCs that can be recruited or killed.

So I'm playing as fane, and you have to kill that Kniles in order to get a faceripper. But what is the point of getting one if you can kill wendigo at the beach and get your mask back?

Divinity: Original Sin 2 is an exemplar of the cRPG genre, offering players a plethora of choices in what they play, where they go, and how they get there. The easiest way around this hurdle is to have your Undead character don a magical mask that allows them to shapeshift into another race. These shapeshifting masks are essential for Undead characters to acquire, and there are a few ways to get them. But the easiest way to do so is to pick up the Face Ripper and combine it with Source Orbs to craft a shapeshifting mask. The Face Ripper is a magical device that peels the faces off of corpses, giving you the grislier of the two crafting materials needed to create a shapeshifting mask. As a rare crafting material in a game with randomized loot, Source Orbs can be very tough to find — but most players find their first Source Orbs in Act 2, at Driftwood.

It's important to remember that all undead characters will take damage from healing, even if Fane is shapeshifted. Scrye OP. Every character can use the mask, not only undeads, if I'm not mistaken, also you could have more than one undead in team? Please do not assemble or modify the product in any way. It does not take a helmet slot Maybe it's a very good thing. With the Undead, it now has a character type expressly designed to explore the detail of its design, and I can't wait to pick through its bones when it comes out of Early Access in a couple of weeks. Sorry for my English. What's better: characters making 'bdbdbdbdbdi' noises while talking in text or cosmetics unlocked by challenges? What are we all playing this weekend? We need to check the packages, restock the items in good condition, and so on.

You can wear a hood to hide your skull, but the magical masks and severed faces essentially make you a blank slate of a character. Dang I really wish the face ripper kept the character model of the person you zapped I yoinked the female silent monks face so I could choose whether red prince was a make or female lizard but it was all in vain. Only a guess by me. Each of the four playable races human, elf, dwarf, lizard has an undead counterpart on the character creation screen, but there's a catch — NPCs and enemies alike are horrified by undead walking among them.
