A friend bought a laptop with extended warranty from JB. The laptop now won't even power on, and when my friend called JB about it, she was told to send the laptop to the east coast probably Sydney or Melbourne? She is based in Perth. This does not sound right to me. I have a feeling JB is just shamelessly trying to fob her off, without fulfilling their obligation to look after her post-sales. JB HI-FI or the manufacturer will determine, at no cost to the customer , whether the product is faulty and the cause of the fault within a reasonable time frame. Thanks for this. She should not have to pay to send the laptop over to another state, when I am sure she paid JB a fair bit of money for the extended warranty. Get your friend to take it to JB if it's in the first year if it's after 1 year he needs to call the warranty number then he drops it off at JB and it's sent away.
