Mackay Animal Rescue Society Inc. MARS is a not for profit registered local charity who is committed to improving the wellbeing and quality of life of dogs and cats in the Mackay region. MARS aims to provide animals with a second chance by taking them in and giving them the care they need until either they are reunited with their family or have found their new home. Completely run by dedicated volunteers, MARS goal is to rescue and rehome animals that may have been maltreated or surrendered, lost or abandoned. MARS works to find these animals a new loving forever home by operating with a network of foster carers. Our not-for-profit organisation connects fosterers and adopters to give every animal a safe forever home. We are based in Mackay, but rescue animals from all over. Not every pet has a loving home. Every year, many are abandoned by their owners, neglected because of poor health, or placed on death row: these animals are in desperate need of care.
