Upon entering, the courteous staff checked me in under the watchful eyes of Johnny Cash, Dolly Parton, and Bob Dylan, whose images are painted on a black-and-white brick mural in the lobby. Before venturing out on the town, I got acquainted with my spacious accommodations. My Skyline Panoramic Corner Suite—which can accommodate up to four people with the comfortable pull-out sofa bed in the separate living room—featured a work desk suitable to be used as a dining-in table for four, adjacent to a wet bar complete with a microwave, coffeemaker, mini-refrigerator, and steamer. The same lounge-restaurant space becomes Harmony in the evenings, with complimentary drinks and snacks served daily during a popular reception featuring live music and entertainment. After venturing out on Church Street for the day, I enjoyed a superb 40 oz. Tomahawk steak at lobby-level hotel restaurant Hand Cut Chophouse, the first outpost outside of Scottsdale, Arizona.
