Enchanted is very underrated, after 4 knights I finally tried making a sorcerer build, put 1 point in strength just to be able to hold a shield and my dexterity to 16, all the rest went to intelligence and attunement, my intelligence is currently at 36, just enough to use soul spear. As a comparison I used the snake man in the base of sen's fortress, 1 parry riposte with my longsword gave about damage, taking about half his health. A parry riposte with my enchanted broadsword took about damage killing them on the 1st strike. I repeated the test with the balder knights and the undead soldiers of undead parish and the result was the same, enchanted broadsword absolutely destroyed my good and old standard longsword. So if you plan to have a high intelligence character, enchanted or magic is the way to go. Enchanted is better if you are just using int, with a sorcery only build or something. Magic is better for a more rounded setup that still focuses on int. While enchanted is good, only get it if you are going full sorcery. Even then, you should be upgrading your dex to around 40 for a casting speed bonus, so make sure your int is at least 60 before you do this. Otherwise, just use magic. I can backstab them for over hp, and they do die, but still a bit short for the one-shot overkill.

Enchanted is an upgrade path in Dark Souls. The Enchanted upgrade path is made available by ascension after giving Rickert of Vinheim the Enchanted Ember. Like the Magic upgrade path , the Enchanted Path increases scaling with the Intelligence stat and grants Magic Damage to the weapon, but lowering any Strength and Dexterity stat scaling bonuses and its physical damage. This makes it suitable for players with high Intelligence, but low Strength and Dexterity, especially when using weapons that have weak Strength or Dexterity scaling to begin with. Enchanted weapons have even higher scaling with Intelligence than Magic weapons, but curbs Dexterity and Strength parameter bonuses more severely. With the aforementioned in mind, the usefulness of Enchanted is most obvious for builds focused on having minimum Strength and Dexterity to invest as much focus as possible into projectile sorceries , as it gives an option to fight at melee range.
