It has been revealed that changes will be made to format of the Eurovision Song Contest for in both the Semi-Finals and Grand Final. This change will result in the cancellation of the previously used interval, where viewers got to see rehearsal clips of the Big 5 and hosts from the night before plus get an interview from the host. Though the order in which these entries will be performed is yet to be determined, it is known that they will perform on the same night that their country is able to vote. France, Italy and Spain will be seen in the second Semi-Final. With this change also comes a tweak to the Grand Final voting format. The public vote will now be opening at the start of the show just before the opening entry takes to the stage. This will be the first time this has happened since the contest in both and when voting opened at the start in all three shows. This change has been made to the Grand Final only, because with the changes to the Big 5 and Sweden performing in the Semi-Finals this means all competing finalists will have been exposed to the public once before the final and so are on a level playing field. This change was also implemented to encourage engagement with viewers from the start of the show. Further changes are also being made to the Rest of the World vote, with the online only platform for viewers outside competing countries being able to vote for almost 24 hours each show. To accommodate the different time zones, the Rest of the World online vote will now be open from when the second dress rehearsals finishes the previous night for each of the three shows.
