Remember SkyConnect is ZigBee. Eve Energy is Bluetooth. So you have to have Bluetooth on the Hardware which runs Home Assistant. I am using a Raspberry Pi 3b which has bluetooth. I installed the beta firmware to my Eve Energy Outlet. Here is the log output when trying to add the device.

They report power only via Bluetooth. That way they use Thread to talk to each other. I then unpair them one by one from Homekit through the Eve app and consequently they will pop up in Home Assistant. Then disconnected and add into HA. They all report W permanent power consumption. I had the same issue at first. After I rebooted the server and physically unplugged the devices, the readings came through. It took a while something minutes , but the readings are good now. I had mine connected to HomeKit, deleted it there. Then it popped right up in HA. I got the same readings 5. The readings are correct BUT it seems, the readout is sometimes plainly not availabe. Reading through this as I have a couple of Eve Energy plugs that recently were updated to support Matter and Thread. In the Eve app I can see consumption and costs.

So yesterday I got on the Matter pilot with Eve Energy for my smart plug to test it out. The instructions say to then set it into pairing mode on Device Details in the Home App and then let HA discover it as a new Matter device. I contacted Eve support and they tell me that the border router in HA Yellow is not compatible with Eve. I suppose I could try removing it from the Home app and then only try adding it to HA as a new Matter device. I think it needs to be removed apple home. I was able to get 3 of my Eve Energy outlets to pair. When I did all of the above and the first 2 steps were critical , it finally paired. It sounds like the next release of the core OS will at least make it functional, but it will have a lot of route churn. Thank you for the detailed reply.

I am struggling to get my Eve products integrated in Home Assistant. There are multiple posts on this subject, but most are up to a few years old already. Are your Eve devices using Thread?

I can't comment on how to fix that as I configured my SkyConnect a dedicated Thread radio and I use a separate Zigbee radio to avoid the issues of losing connections. If both Apple and HA have issues reaching the device it could still be network issues but it could also be just mesh issues or distortion of the radio signal, move the device closer to the border router. Illuminance does not register, but that is documented as the current state of the HA Matter integration, which currently only handles lights some functions and binary sensors. Unfortunately when I re-added the device to HA, it showed up as a new entity on the same device which still cannot be deleted: I'm happy to report a new issue to not derail the discussion on this one, just not sure where to start as I can't readily reproduce it and the debug logs show nothing about the unavailable device perhaps because I enabled debug logging after it went unavailable. Notice the lack of Zigbee and Z-wave. Here is a related thread you may want to track… looks like some have had success showing energy and some have not….
