Fairy Tail begins in an early morning where everyone is just starting to wake up when we see an elderly woman.

With the start of a new day after the hectic events of the Grand Magic Games and the Eclipse incident, Fairy Tail prepare to go back to Magnolia. Meredy and Jellal meet Doranbolt while searching for Ultear and learn that news of the Eclipse incident would never reach the Magic Council thanks to his Memory Control. They also learn that Tartaros is about to make their move. As the two depart the region, they receive a letter from Ultear which tells them of her condition, greatly saddening the two. On the way to Magnolia, Fairy Tail's carriage passes by an elderly Ultear without stopping, but Gray recognizes her and realizes the sacrifice she made, weeping that he had now lost both mother and daughter. Ultear, on the other hand, is happy for the first time in her life that she is alive and bids a fond farewell to those dear to her.

Beacon of Rebellion is the th episode of the Fairy Tail anime, and the 30th episode of the series. While Fiore is suffering from very strange weather, Lucy Heartfilia , Natsu Dragneel , and Happy take a job request to help with an investigation to see if the abnormal weather is caused by changes in celestial bodies. They discover that the job request is fake, created by some Celestial Spirits in order to lure Lucy. Due to Fiore's sudden drastic changes in weather, a lot of people start to send job requests to Mages guilds for help with the weather. Among the Mages who have gone on these jobs are Gray and Juvia , who cool down a town suffering from heat waves; Erza , who is helping with repairs for damages caused by weather; and Wendy together with Carla , who moves a ship that can't move due to lack of wind. There don't seem to be any jobs left for Natsu and Lucy, but Mirajane has saved a job suited for the latter in a village called Seabellus. The goal of this job is to help investigate whether or not the strange weather is related to Celestial Spirits somehow. Arriving at their destination, the Mages wonder if it really is Seabellus, seeing as there doesn't seem to be a village anywhere. They don't have much time to ponder this as a giant sea slug comes out of the water and starts attacking them. Lucy attempts to summon Aquarius , but strangely, nothing happens.

Welcome Back, Frosch is the nd episode of the Fairy Tail anime, and the 27th episode of the series. A day of misadventure ensues for the Sabertooth guild when Lector reveals that he lost track of Frosch whilst out shopping. Rushing to locate the Exceed , the members of Sabertooth find their friend trying to get back to the Sabertooth guildhall under its own power, and decide to follow it secretly and allow it to achieve its goal of returning on its own. After a day of fighting bandits and meeting familiar faces, Frosch finally succeeds in reaching a guildhall: the Fairy Tail one. In the midst of shopping at a bazaar, Lector loses sight of Frosch, who wanders off and gets lost in the crowd. Meanwhile, at the Sabertooth guildhall, the new guild master Sting calls the guild together and, with a malicious grin, demands they all remove their clothes. However, rather than casting them out as Jiemma once did, he declares that their new pool is open, and the guild members gleefully begin playing in the water, bragging about the fact that they are the only guild to have a pool.
