Log In Sign Up. How do I recover them? My friend just came over and decided to start his own save file. He just left, and about half of my save files were missing. I don't know why. I don't know if it's because I started only using quicksaves around that time not sure what the difference between a normal save and a quicksave is or if his save was a factor. I'm just wondering how I can recover them. I had over 60, caps and some amazing gear. I don't really want 44 hours of my life to be wasted. Can anyone tell me what I can do about this? My friend saved once in his file. Not sure if that effects anything.

With numerous divergent plot points, questing options and play-styles, accumulating plenty of "Fallout: New Vegas" save files isn't hard. Deleting your excess save files periodically can keep your "Load" menu from becoming a disorganized mess, especially if you have multiple characters. Each version of the game handles save files differently, primarily related to how the machines themselves store and manage the save data.

I press save game in game and it never saves and if there is a folder then I don't have it and don't know how to select a location for saving the game. Problems saving are usually caused by the "anti-ransomware" functionality built into your security software.
