As I say, I loved the writing, but there's also a real richness to the story that kept me wanting to read. I have to admit I was looking forward to examining the unsavory aspects of their lives, taking a peek behind the closed doors of the marital home. But most importantly, if you like the grotesque, you will enjoy this book. Helen has created an amazing array of supporting characters too and these play such an important role in the unraveling of the story. Such great storytelling, pace, action, romance! Just find one you like better. But Fates and Furies sang to me. William Wehrmacher Had the same feelings, followed the suggestion to skip, or skim, the first part of the book. Roxanne I also loved Arcadia. Or will it end in a heartbreaking, deadly showdown?

When Thea and Wilder first arrive; when the gang all comes together for the first time; when Kipp, Cal, and Torj bet on Thea and Wilder not only having sex but the sex bringing her magic back; when Torj pulls Wilder aside after Thea is called to the Great Rite!!! It was the whimsical tone with its posturing prose that irritated me here. Too many good books in this world to read this one. Author 7 books 1, followers. What hooked me was the anticipation regarding Mathilde. Helen Scheuerer. When she came across the veranda, he saw Mathilde all of a sudden. Wilder knows he made some mistakes in hiding things from Thea, but I love how you can feel in their emotions how that decision affected them. The more life you had, the more the base expanded, so that the wounds and treasons that were nearly imperceptible when they happened stretched like tiny dots on a balloon slowly blown up. Not all the people's behavior is above board but there is no real condemnation of the institution. All opinions are my own, and my review is freely given. I also found the ending truly pathetic. Without the details, we are all prone to glimpses of pretty strangers, to the lie that theirs is a perfect life, to the belief that happiness is on the other side of our mundane fences. This is about that for sure.
